Saw an awesome car hauler conversion yesterday!

I had a Isuzu with a bed like on the U Haul truck.. The only problem that I had was the bed was a tad to high in the back.... I like the U Haul truck looks like that would work great for hauling junk

Couldn't find the pic but johnc4x4 trailer like this .
    Wright Trailers, Inc.
If you look at the pic Specialty work youll see a car trailer with that flip up deck. Add this on a u haul car hauler conversion and now we're talking. Being able to haul 2 cars and not having to drag a trailer, that'd be sweet.

Ok I don't haul cars often but have driven a "retired" u-haul and i would be prepared for a major overhaul of the trucks suspension and drive train

I'm just thinking simple: One Car on the back of this thing. I made a rule/vow/promise to my wife when I first got started doing this- I ended up with 3 at once.. and we do not live in the woods. So I had 1 in the garage, one in HER parking spot, and 1 on the trailer. I've been with my wife for 15 years- the look she gave me when I had 3 at once was..umm.. well.. scary. I promised once I got those 3 dead and gone- I'd only do 1 at a time. On a rare occasion I have 2- one gets dropped somewhere else- and only 1 is at home. So Long-way around. If I were to do a UHaul Conversion, it would be for the simplicity of having an all in one package- truck and trailer in one, with only one car on it at a time. No stacking, no trailer attached to the Uhaul- just one car on the "deck"

Yep having one vehicle instead of a truck and a trailer is a good idea - especially for hauling farm tractors, which is a special interest of mine.

Not what I was getting at. Add a flip up deck to the u haul using a design very similar one on johns trailer but on the deck of the u haul. Ability to haul two cars at once or leave that flip up deck down and load a tractor or whatever on.

I'm not going for this route, for the u haul part anyhow but I'm thinking if I can getting some measurements or eyeball a trailer with the same setup, put 8k axles on my 22' gn and add the front flip up deck. Because ever bringing them in or hauling them to the yard would help save a bunch of gas. Plus instead of making 2 trips for a pair of 3200# cars, make one trip for 6400#! And the thought of a two trailer that isn't 30 plus feet trips my trigger.

Why not ? Plenty of brakes and axles under that truck with a 6500# payload. You ever pull a 5' trailer ? A 20' trailer ? Which one is easier to get around with ? I pick up many cars in many places, most of which aren't too friendly for a 18' let alone a 30'. Not hating on anyone's rig, but a 2 car trailer having the same foot print as many single car trailers
Would have benefit to it for sure.
