I agree with you tater trying to get a 30' trailer anywhere is a challenge let alone into a backyard or down to the barn.
sledge it would make a great starter car hauler remove the box and add ramps the original deck should be fine for a while but might need to get beefed up once exposed to the weather. i would think with a few modifications it could do real well and with your connection if the price was right I say go for it.



as far as adding a double stack trying to bring a top heavy load like that into some of the yards around here would take a set of brass. steep washboard hills, hairpin blind corners could get ugly quick but for all you flatlanders it would be fine lol

I think you missing what I'm saying. With 23' of deck that wouldn't be any issues there. I'm not saying a full on double decker. Besides if theres enough space on johns 18' trailer, why wouldn't it fit on 23' of deck ? A lot harder than I think ? If you used the same exact design as that wright trailer, wheres the hard part ? They engineers done the hard part all you'd have to do is copy it. If I could find plans or a trailer irl to copy off of, I'd add that flip up deck to my 22' gn tomorow. Nah.. not too late, The upside is that these are fleet maintained. I once parked cars for Avis Rent A Car. I'll tell you that I'd buy one of their rentals after they deem it no longer new enough to rent.. they have full on mechanic teams that maintain the car every single time it is returned. I cannot vouch for Uhaul doing the same- but most companies that rely on a vehicle to generate revenue and maintain their namesake- tend to maintain them well.. right up until the end of their service life!

I've never seen one around here either- not for sale.. nor hauling into a yard.. nor on the highway hauling. So they aren't too easy to find around here either!

I fix mine at work for free ! Plus I'll patch Sidewall or whatever, I've yet to ruin a tire by patching the sidewall either. The guys at the big chain tire stores are ripping off people with that rule "can't patch within 2" of the sidewall," screw that I'll patch on the side and it'll hold up for sure. Just one of the reasons I part time scrap, working in this shop helps keep of some of my maintenance costs under control.
