    Anybody ever scrap an ambulance?

I got an offer today to scrap the back half of an ambulance. It has been turned into a trailer by pinching together the frame and welding a hitch on it so hauling it away will be easy. I didnt have a magnet on me(for once) so i didnt get to check too much but he said all the paneling is aluminum. It still has wiring in it and its A LOT of wiring.

Other than the aluminum thats easy to get off i plan on selling it as shred. Im open to advice or suggestions, anybody with knowledge of these please chime in. Or if you havent scrapped one, chime in anyways! Sorry no pics im not too good with the technermology.

Sounds like it would be better than scrap value there. Enclosed trailer?
Or if you do scrap it tear out all that wiring and get that AL, maximize your profits any way possible. When opportunity knocks...

I asked this question a while back. Search the threads, theres lots of good feedback on it.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

    Anybody ever scrap an ambulance?

Thanks that was very nooby of me to not go search first. When i called my father in law just now to see if he had any ideas, enclosed trailer was his first suggestion but i don't see myself getting much more than scrap price that way. Theres a lot of use for trailers around here but everyone and their momma's already got one(my momma has 2). I might put it on craigs for a few hundred but this guy that owns it could do that himself. If he wants to scrap it though he needs my expertise. He asked me to scrap it and cut him in so i dont want to seem like im pulling a fast one. He owns an autobody shop and i dont want to lose his business(i haul 100 percent of his scrap and only pay commission on nonferrous).

Besides, the reason he stopped using it as a trailer is because it weighs about a ton and a half. Im afraid too that if i bring up selling it as is he will just do that and im out a couple hundred bucks.

If it weighs that much then go ahead and scrap it. Like SuperDave said get as much aluminum out, wire and check for any ss. If it weighs 1.5 tons all that aluminum just might be ss. Do what ever you have to in order to keep your scrap customer. Good luck and let us know how things turn out.
