    Jord's Cars of 2014

Well now that im back in a truck its time to get haulin cars again. Might as well do as many others are doin and make my own thread! Gonna dedicate this thread to all the cars I haul in this year. (And maybe other scores) Have my first pick up tomorrow (hopefully. Waiting on conformation)

    Will include pics!

Thought i should also add, One thing I found helps attract people to my ad is, in the first line I put "local student and entrepreneur paying cash for scrap cars" im a student (doing my mechanic apprenticeship) and we're all entrepreneurs! People love seeing that kinda stuff.

If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Picked this beauty up today. 2001 Civic Coupe. Spent $200. Cars in decent shape, motor and trans shot. Should be able to sell a few parts. Lots of these around. Cats still there, should do pretty well on this thing.

Try selling whole you just never know...My kid sold an older Civic yesterday with a bad motor for $1300. Buyer understood the motor was bad but didn't care.

No kidding eh, I put on the ad parts or whole. Front ends a basket case though. Hoods removed and in the bed of the truck, motor half ripped apart, missing grill. We'll see!

I think he posted the car cause the truck was in the shot.

    Mighty fine looking truck though.

Havent had much action this year with cars but did get this beauty today for $200 bucks!

Bodys real decent and the motor/trans has only 160k kms/100k miles. Should make out alright on this one.

Might have a Ford pickup from a buddys family lined up for next week too. We'll see!

Is that an Olds Intrigue? If you ever scrap any of those, check the converter closely. If it's a big Breadloaf, chances are good that it's a $160 cat. Most 99 to 02 Intrigues have a good number Breadloaf on them.

Funny thing I just found this!
    2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue Other | cars & trucks | Cornwall | Kijiji

He is looking for 400$ though, I'd be game at 250$-275$ 400 is much too tight. AL rims too. Maybe a little more since Sparrow's post..

Price down to 165$/ton, and I don't like working for nothing or at a loss....Its a tough gig sometimes.

    Don't mean to hijack..Thanks Jord.

Unlikely that it's lower on these particular vehicles. They're a large-pipe Large Breadloaf, almost always good numbers. The older ones with the smaller pipe are generally the ones to sell to a buyer who ignores the numbers. There ARE a few exceptions to both of these rules, so the numbers should be checked on ALL of them to obtain an accurate price.

As the late 90s-early 2000s vehicles (like these Olds Intrigues) are getting older and reaching the end of their useful life, the good # Breadloafs are going to become more and more prevalent. I bought three Large Breads today, all large-pipe and all over $120. The older low-grade $70 ones will always be around to some limited extent, but they are on the decline and the good ones are becoming more commonly seen.

Give it another five years, and the good Large Breadloaf will be the vast majority of what is still out there of them. This industry is constantly changing. At one time, Fishtail Chryslers were extremely common. Now, they're maybe 2 or 3 out of 100 pieces. That's where the old low-grade Breadloaf is eventually headed.

Sorry, Jord, I don't mean to hijack. I'll quit yakking now Hopefully, some of you guys will find this helpful.

Well hopefully this is a sign of good times ahead. Second car in 3 days. 2001 Ford Exploder. Paid $200. Had to bring my own rims though. Still not bad IMO. Ad said 1991 so i was expecting a rotting piece of dead weight. His daughter mistyped it. Unexpected bonus. This baby runs and have some decent parts left.
