Sparrow and superdave, dont worry about hijacking! Its all useful/interesting info!

Still waiting for the original hijacker *cough* sirscrap *cough* to chime in here and take my thread completely off the rails.

Dodge is runnin great. Had to replace the front end and now the trac bars/control arms (is what dodge calls them) need to be replaced. Other than that no major issues. Knock on wood. Pulls amazing and lovin the power this things got. Throws you in your seat up hill with a car on the trailer. Its retarded, almost too much..... lol jk can never have too much power.

Yes, that is a nice-looking truck. I wouldn't own anything but a Ram. Great trucks. The front suspension parts are a common weakness on them, but easy enough to fix.

Mines an 04, has an upgraded front end with 09 components. Apparently they shaped up in 09 and made em durable. We'll see. Id rather have front end issues and a **** reliable drive line. (Mines a 6 speed. Not that auto junk dodge has)

The very first thing I said to my dealer was "Don't even show me an automatic- I won't buy it." I love the 6-speed. Better control, much more durable and just fun to drive. Mine has the G56, which is actually a Mercedes heavy truck transmission. Your '04 likely has the New Venture 6-speed, which is also a very good gearbox. Those nasty automatics can set you back $5K for a rebuild

I know a few hard-core Ford and GM guys who have switched or plan to switch to Dodge just for the availability of a REAL manual transmission. GM dropped theirs in 07, and Ford in 11. Dodge is keeping it. That push-button "manual mode" junk that GM and Ford have is still a slushbox. Real trucks have three pedals!

I had my 11 in for a tie rod recall already. No problems, but they had to check it. Apparently, they had a number of bad ones where the threaded part snapped right off.

My 99 has an auto trans and iv had nothing but issues with it. Poor acceleration, no guts, no power. Shift issues. Just bad. I promised myself never again would i own an automatic dodge.

You are correct my truck has the NV5600 Trans. Love it. Much better speed and EGT control. Lots of power and i like the fact that the truck doesnt do a thing unless i tell it to. They are fun to drive. Iv just mastered the clutchless downshifting and love sounding like a transport. I turn into a big kid in that truck lol

Ford should have never switched from the 7.3L, the whole 6.0L family is just unreliable. Too many issues. Not to mention they, and duramaxs are a nightmare to work on. V8, Everythings buried. Dodge is all out and easy to get to, same amount of power with two less cylinders.

Well got another vehicle this weekend. Forgot to take a decent pic but did get one to post. Was an 04 dakota. Got it free , it was my friends girlfriends truck and she crashed it. Frame was bent and front axle busted.

He gave me the shell, but took the rear axle. We pulled the motor and trans and are going to split on that when its sold. He gave me the rest. Not a bad deal. Got $300 for just the shell.

By the way, this pic was saved from my Snapchat. Thats why theres the timer and red writing LOL

Had no idea they weighed that much. Never bought a dakota before so never really checked curb weights. The thing was 3000Lbs stripped to the bones! Whole drive line, rear bumper and hood removed and it was still 3000lbs.

No video of you hitting the switches on it?

You make me sad Jord. Sad I tell you! Like a clown with no laughter, that sad.

All jokes aside I like the ride. Should fetch ya some good money.
