why you don't include the value of a cat when buying cars

I never include the value of the catalytic converter when I am buying/making a deal for a car and it's this not nice surprise for the reason of it

this is my first factory catalytic I have gotten that was hollow, I knew it would eventually happen... $115 cat turned into $0.25

I used to have a 93 Ram that I raced and did that same thing to my cats. I also knew alot of other people that did it as well, free performance while still having the look of being legal! Just had to deal with an O2 sensor light on all the time.

Yeah, this was back in the mid 90's. Later on I didn't even bother with the ruse as I then got a 97 Ram that I raced and just completely cut out the cats and threw on a couple glasspacks. Michigan didn't have any inspections or emissions testing so I didn't worry about it. Of course now I'm much older and wiser , plus Texas does require inspections...so on my 02 Ram I settled for a Magnaflow High-Flow Cat. In case you were wondering, yes, I like to race Rams.
