What kind of trailer do you use?

I am thinking of getting a trailer to haul junk cars with and was wondering what yall use. I have a 16' utility trailer but its not really suitable for cars. I was thinking about a tilt 18' with a 8000# winch but those tilt trailers are $$$$. Does anyone here just use a regular economy car hauler with ramps. What are your experiences also manufacturers. I want to spend as little as possible so it pays for itself quickly.

I use the basic 2 car trailer , Bumper pull 2 5/16" ball
    Lower winch is a Ramsey
Upper is the Harbor Freight 12K that I get for $399
When the Ramsey dies I will be replacing with another HF

    A couple photos below

So do you find tilt necessary it certainly looks useful. I know it cost more...is it worth it?

i would not say its necessary. but on the other hand it is handy and lot easier. no ramps to get lost or stolen. but a standard trailer will work just as well.

I would say a tilt trailer you could load farm machinery or vehicle without wheels where you could not with ramps. Or would be real difficult.
Don't own one but can see some advantages.

i have loaded few without wheels and does make it easier. have never owned a standard trailer so i don't have anything to compare it to my tilt trailer.

I have a 8x20 2 axle trailer with the bed over the tires. It has a tailgate that is strong enough to use for a ramp when let down. This trailer isn't the ideal car hauler, but it can handle a F250 with a steel bed and fuel tank when I need to drop it off at another field.

I had to pick my trailer for its overall usefulness to me. You have to think about your situation and pick the properties of a trailer that fit.

    Mine were:
    1. wide enough for 2 pallets of seed to fit side by side
    2. low rails to hold stuff from sliding off, but not too high so I can't drag heavy stuff over the side
    3. rails also needed for tiedown
    4. heavy duty enough to haul my fuel truck or a small tractor.
    5. heavy wood bed so things don't slide around so easy (I have been known to pop a few screws through things to hold them in place)
    6. tool box (front mounted)
    7. winch (still working on that one, have to use the one on the front of my truck for now)
