I am really interested in this part of the "scrapping" business. I am looking for any advice. I have been selling auto and motorcycle parts on
ebay for a while and recently I have picked up my volume a bit. I make decent money just doing it as a hobby but I want to get more serious and work for my self full time. I really enjoy it and think this is where I want to focus. I am interested in mainly an online type business with a small yard and storage/ dismantle warehouse that sells to body shops and auto services, core buyers and eBay as well. I would even sell local to "walk ins". Is there any business software that could make it easier. I have seen the car-parts.com stuff and it may be what I need but I am looking for something more basic while I start up. I don't want to dump a bunch of $$$$$ and then things not work out. What type of Insurance do I need. Obviously I will be transporting autos and I have been using an old equipment trailer and renting car haulers as needed. I am buying a single car electric tilt with winch to get me by for a year or so than moving up (assuming it does as well as I hope). I already have a website I have been working on (still needs a lot of work) and I will have to do some adjusting to it to get away from the general scrapping market and focus mostly on autos (although I would still buy some scrap I cant help it). If there is anyone near Georgia that would be willing to show me how you do business for a day I would be glad to buy you a NICE dinner and pay you for your time.
My site is
oldmetalservices.com
I know I will need to add links to inventory and paypal and all but you will see the general idea of my website anyway. I accept feedback as well.
Thanks
