Catalytic Converters are a tough game as sometimes the make and model of a car doesn't always give the right info. A listing for a reputable Cat buy is in the buyers section, they recently bumped their post. I would give a shout out to them to at least find out what they would offer, they have very competitive market pricing so that would at least be the best place to start.

The bottom is going to tell you more. Probably a GM 4 dot.

4-Dot, worth anywhere from $45 to $140. If the heat shield is still there on the other side, there will be an 8-digit number on one of its corners. With the number, I can give you an exact value. If the shield and number are gone, it's unfortunately just worth what a core buyer is willing to pay for it "by category", probably in the $60-80 range.

Here's a pic of the bottom. Thanks for the help everyone. the heat shield is still intact but I don't see any numbers, just "Made in USA" and "AC."

If you clean up the crimped corners of the heat shield with a wire brush, you may be able to find the number. There will be a number on two of the corners, the one with eight digits is the one you need. They are usually on the end with the AC stamp. 25146473 is the most common number for a 99 Saturn. That one is only worth around $50, so hopefully it's something different

If the converter has a lot of rust, the number may be gone. It happens a lot up here in the Northern states because of the road salt in the winters. I get the numbers from almost all of my Breadloaf and Roundloaf GMs (even the real ugly rustbuckets), but the 4-Dots can be tough. I still get the numbers on the vast majority of the 4-Dots, but I get more of them with illegible numbers than any other type.

Best thing to do with a no-number 4-Dot is to find a buyer who buys them at a decent price "by category".

Yeah without a number even though i dont play the numbers game as he stated above. That is why i would rather a a steady decent price across the board instead of loosing on some and gaining on some.So like i say no matter how you buy or sell them they still average out to around the same.

With that being said it is worth 60-80 or so.

You have to have a Buyers page to openly advertise buying or solicit items from members on this forum...

Only exception I know of to the buyer badge is if your posting in Classifieds, an looking for something.

Me posting.."Looking to buy a laptop battery" there would likely have no issue. I do it in another's thread I'm sure I'm walking in a gray area, if using my example for one item.

I've noticed lately over the course of the last few months, more an more folks sneaking that into a thread. Buyer badge or not.

Not annoy me or nothing..just noticed.

    Carry on.

Sirscrapalot - Will I have another? That's a stupid question! - me an my barkeep.

I guess you have been slipping under the radar but it has been posted a number of times (not necessarily directed towards you) that if you want to buy here, pony up some cash and be official. Now you know.

Very first rule on the list... It's a worthwhile investment, cheap, and also helps keep the forum around for all of us to enjoy and benefit from.
