My first week back in the car recycling business worked out fine. Bought a 94 S10 Blazer 4X4 at a tow company auction. Not perfect but ran good. Thought I had the engine sold out of it but the wonders of Craigslist the potential buyer flaked out. So I accepted a cash offer of $600 for the entire vehicle from some young guys who live in near by Apache Junction. I paid $105 for the thing. Kept the stereo and spare tire out of it. That's a $495 profit. With scrap so low it would take me two years to get that much money from shred.

The rest is clear profit including what I will get when it's all used up and headed to the scrap yard. I had all but forgotten about those auctions. Scrap is in the toilet so there had to be a better way to recycle and still make some money. There were many more great deals at the auction but I can only haul one at a time and store maybe four out back. Going back in two weeks for some more cars to part out.
