I think you've got that backwards! You should be using that to scrap OTHER cars.

It has been sitting for years. It wouldn't take much to get it up and running again.
We have a 1994 F450/Super Duty winch/gin pole/flatbed dump we use for scrapping.
We have had severals offers on the Zacklift only. The Holmes 500 bed and wheel lift would be great on a 2 ton truck it can tow/haul large trucks, buses, or cars.

Where do you live and what do you expect to get for scrap value?

Scrap here close to St. Louis is going for $230 a ton. The Zacklift weighs 1000 lbs. we'll remove it then scrap the rest. The truck weighs over 11,000 lbs. The cab, body, and bed are all in good shape for the year.

I'd try to sell it first, or at least part it out a bit more. Just sayin. But I hate seeing a vehicle junked until it's absolutley at the end of it's life...with the world being taken over by hybrids who are adding to Americas laziness by making even the simpilist task of PARKING a vehicle obsolete, watching alotta these vehicles gets crushed makes me cry a little

We are, if anything we'll cut the wheel lift off, part the bed and the truck and scrap the rest or if anyone wanted a good ole classic wrecker with a minimum investment. We have people interested in a door, fender, seat, steering wheel you know the deal. Not just enough to justify butchering the thing up if someone wanted it whole.
Then you have the no shows "I'm coming with cash in hand" deal. Plus the little woman is on my rear to move it out and says we defineatley are NOT insuring or licensing another truck.
Like you I'd rather sell it to someone for scrap price to be useable then to see it shredded and shipped to China to be reincarnated as a toaster on a shelf at Walmart.

If that wrecker is able to be re coned to the point of operating even just in a small yard. Im sure if you offered it here, you would get way more then scrap value intact. that is very handy to those who cant afford excivators, fork lifts, etc. kind of the next step up from a torch kit. very handy item to have. whish I could afford it Id be there in a NY secound. I missed one here for $1200. old chevy yard wrecker but ran and worked like a charm.

We sold the 1 ton with the 480 for scrap price. We could of parted it out for almost 3 times that but didn't want to fool with it.
We'll sell the C50 w/Holmes 500 for scrap price minus the Zacklift, or the complete truck w/Zack for 2500 dollars.
Check out the Zacklift Z6500 and see what it's worth. It's old but operates like a new one that sells for over 8 grand.
The old wrecker needs some clean fuel, clean up and some rear end work and someone can be towing for 3k to 3500. Also you can be towing big stuff too.
There's a new ad on the Champaign C/L.
