In older diesel you can mix used motor oil upto 35% with diesel...when you are burning it you and you see no black smoke...add more..when you start to see a slight hint of black smoke dont add as much next time.

Used veggie oil (I use this in my truck and actively buy it at $1 to $1.50 based on how much you have)

ATF as been said can be used.

jet fuel JP8 (jp-8) works as just as #1 and #2 diesel based on the time of year you pick it up

kerosene works great (good as rase fuel as well if you want more boost power...but you should cut it and not use straight..but you can)

Home heating oil in some cases can work

In short....diesel trucks can run on alot of things...the newer trucks...not so much.

You hit a nerve with this one - what happened to diesels!? They used to be the engines that would still be running at the end of time...now they're fragile, electronic toys that kids plug their iphones into to make them "roll smoke". The 7.3 and the 5.9 12 valve seem like the last real diesels...sure the new ones can run a 13 second quarter mile and you can run the radio and AC while doing it...but **** they're complicated!!

    Sorry...derailing my own thread

I'm with you on that...I am running a old ford 7.3....thinking of changing her heart to the 5.9 12 valve but...not sure.

I just love the old diesels...they do what you ask, they will not stop running, they will run on just about any oil you can find lmao and...they JUST WORK.

I have thought about getting a newer truck...better fuel mileage but...I don't think I want a truck that will take some rocket science to work on them.

P.s rolling the smoke...is a good way to **** the truck up...talk about blacking the motor inside out with crap that will take your hp to hell.

We use to do veggie oil conversions to diesel. Google it if you have a diesel. Any questions PM us. A conversion can be a cheap as $400 if you do it yourself. Furthermore, if you have a dodge diesel or a cummins diesel, they will run on veggie oil stock from the factory. Again, if you need assistance PM us.
