    car plastic

    is their any value in car plastics such as bumpers and lights other than resale as used parts

    Shred plastic? Or throw it in with the scrap metal when scrapping a car? I service a couple of collision shops and their plastic parts go into the dumpster.

    my yard takes it with the cars i asked him as i had a couple that were off the car when i picked them up. yard told me it was fine to throw them in he said they dont weigh enough to make a difference

    I was looking for value in the plastic. I have heard there may be companies that take plastic bumpers but I don't have any names

    If you have enough of it it's certainly worth something.

    When I worked in plastics brokering we had a load of the bumper material.

    I forget what it was called but, I believe it was a combination of HDPE and HMW.

    At the time it was something like $ .15.

    That was for truckload quantities though.

    Plastic recycling is big business.

    If you do some research in your area I'm sure you could find a buyer.
