    Just curious

I've done metal scrapping for years. Just haven't attempted a vehicle. Was wondering how your yards accept them, the process, and do the fluids need to be removed (gas, oil, atf, freon, etc).

My yard takes them whole. Some want the fluids drained. Some want the fuel tank punctured or removed. It all depends on your yard.

Idaho and Jack have it right, it depends on the yard. Here we have two yards, one wants the glass, interior, fluids, etc. removed. The other one just just wants the fluids drained. You can guess which one gets the most cars!

It would depend if the one yard pays better for removing the extras. All of the yards within spittin' distance of me want the fluids out of them.

I took a 1982 Chevy Van in..Drove it across the scales, left the keys in it, and handed the cashier the title! I've taken several cars in that way!

True, sad part is though the both pay the same only the first one wants basically a shell with no plastic, glass, rubber or fluids. The second one just wants the fluids out which I think most yards do and couldn't care less if the tires are still on it.
