RR, I resent that. I'm not some person who just walked into the scrapping world. JJ, no I didn't get a slip. I never do from the place I went. The car was 2 miles from my brothers house. I drove it there. The closest yard was 3 miles, and it was all back roads, no main roads, and lastly, and I don't want to be scolded, we chain pulled it out there. So, basically, we pulled the car out there. I brought the cat into the office, told him I had a car too. He asked if i wanted the tires (pretty well shot.) I said "only if you'll charge me for leaving them on." He said no, just scale it. I scaled it, we unhooked it, went in, he gave me the money, said the car was 280 something and the cat was 45. I figured it was low, but I was tired and didn't care to argue. So I walked away with my tail between my legs.
As for the battery, it's only a year old. $30 on c/l over $8 scrap? I'll take $30 thank you. And the alternator I havn't dealt with yet, wanted to see how versatile it was before scrapping it. Also pulled the power steering pump because it was brand new. Siphoned out 14 gallons of gas. 14 gal of gas at 3.90=$54.60.
I have had problems with this yard in the past. They told me they wouldn't take CBMs at motor price, only shred price.
