beautiful pictures, I miss that, but I will settle for the pictures thank you.
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"
Mitsubishi Pajero diesel - Was this a used car import (right hand drive)? I don't know if I've seen any around.
Yea, agreeing with olddude here...Beautiful pictures, but man glad I don't have to deal with it anymore, worse i get on my sandbar now is a dusting and thats to much for me after ten years in Arizona..lol.
Sirscrapalot - Will let Gus keep the snow, and he'll keep the sand.
Yes the Pajero is Japanese grey market import, mine had 75,000 Km on it when I purchased it. The only problem if you call it that is paying for coffee at Tim Hortens if your traveling alone.
Engine is a 2.8 liter Inter-cooled turbo diesel, from what I've read in the service manual overhauling the injectors and pump is relatively easy. I may have to order my parts from the UK or Australia where these were common vehicles. I have the high pressure pump that is used for testing the fuel spray and setting the shims.
The only problem I have had so far I had to rebuild the rear slave cylinders for the disc brakes, yea it has discs all four corners, the overhaul kit came from the UK, if you don't mind waiting for parts these Jap imports are a good deal.
The stereo is for Japanese domestic market and it does not work in North America, the drivers seat is built after the bostrom seat fully adjustable to the drivers weight. I love the seat when going over washboard which is most of Manitoba back roads that I travel.
Thing is built like a Sherman Tank, the 3rd member on the diff is as large as a Ford half ton maybe even larger, 225R-16 tires, 4 wheel drive with high and low range, short wheel base goes where a mountain goat cant go.
Instrumentation, includes a compass, altimeter and inclination plus a trans temperature gauge, factory installed skid plates for engine and transmission, heavy push bar with big fog lights mounted on the front bumper.
Next round I will process my WVO into bio.
Not my Pajero in the picture but an exact carbon copy, the seat in my Pajero is a lot nicer than this one below.

Ninety percent of my circular carbide tipped saw blades came from finds, where I live out in the boonies it costs to much for most folks to ship and have them returned freshly sharpened.
Buying a sharpening machine is an option but I prefer to make my own machinery, no use having a welder and metal lathe if your not going to use them.
Should be a good market for re-sharped carbide saw blades in a neighborhood near you, food for thought.

Wa wa wa waaayt a minute. The largest thread by far on this forum has an irrelevant title. How did this happen? O don't know of anyone looking for Gustuvas or thread is this a sewing forum? Or a Gustuvas forum? I propose a sit in.
Russell, this isn't the original title to this thread. Go back and read post #2.
Ok now I see... It got really exciting when you guys found out Gus rose from the dead. This is like a novel, now I can see why its a big deal, I'm gonna get some popcorn and read on.
I haven't said it in a while but I will today, thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas and a hopefully Happy New Year. I know it will prove to be an interesting new year for Gus and I look forward to reading about it. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
In the spring I'm going to borrow the neighbors excavator and dig a new well that is much deeper, I think that if I teir the hole going down I can get down 50 ft.. With the size of hole required I wont have to worry about cutting the lawn for a year or more.
The weired part is that the river borders our property line at the rear, you would think we were sitting right on the water table. We can get water from the community Village well just a mile down the road from us and there's a laundrymat in Sandy Lake.
Now we know why the property came with an outdoor sheeter, havent had to do that since I was a kid living on the farm.
Oh well at least I have a few inside projects keeping me busy, so far I have 12 drawers with another dirty dozen going in opposite. The pigion holes will have 56 cubby's when its completed, on top of the cubby's a shelve for things like gasket cement and WD-40 easy grab no hunting.
On the top half of the cubby's my most popular sockets, screw drivers, seal picks and sockets.
As a reserve, could you tap into the river with a small pump and pump it up to the house to a water tank?? Might be another option.
