Somebody has a 1989 S-10 4-cyl for sale for $200. My scrap yard pays about 13 cents a pound for cars. About how much do ya'll think it weighs and about how much i could make off of it? Thanks.

Weight is about 3094 lb. Roughly $400. but check with them(your yard) to see if you have to drain the fluids or punch a hole in the gas tank. That is some of the deal with certain yards. That'll be minus the fluids and tires.

If you enjoy your freedom, thank a vet.
You should also get a large GM converter off of it, that should bring you at least $80. Plus the battery, radiator and alternator, another $100.
You're looking at close to a $500 truck.
Okay. It's my first time scrapping a vehicle. Should i take it as is or should i break it down?
Small converter on the 4 cyclinder , got 45 for it at my yard.

For future reference, just google the car and "curb weight"
It has not let me down yet for a ballpark weight
i brought lots of s-10 they weight about 2600lbs which is about $340. Cores battery, alt, compressor, starter, rad about $35. Most 80's model s-10s have small bead type converters on them which is worth about $35. And if it has aluminum rims another $60. So it would be a $400-$500 truck i would buy it.

Extended cabs weigh in round 3200, and also depends on 2wd or 4wd. And how much trash is in bed.
Okay thanks everybody. I'm going to go ahead and get it and will let everybody know how much I got for It and I'ts weight.
I ended up getting the truck for $160 and I took It to the yard and It weighed 2,840 lbs and I got $380.71 for It. Not to bad.
Nice. Did you pull any goodies or haul it as is?
I took It as Is for the most part but I did take the Radiator, some Aluminum, Insulated copper and a 14lb Electric Motor off the truck and sold that for about $12.
I would buy it for 200 but I would brake it down like this. starter .53lbs,alternator .63lbs, ac compressor .37lbs, clean al. rad .56lbs, heater core .95lbs, al. wheels .85lbs, battery 8.00ea, transmission .22lbs, cat (bead) 33.00ea, wire harness 1.20lbs If the tires where good I would sell them too.
I also bought an s10 today it's an 85 model single can long bed, I paid $300 only because it runs good I currently have it listed on cl for 800 neg and I'm holding it for a guy cause he guaranteed me 650 here's the ad http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/3021171151.html
