Great find, please share pictures if you can! Is it a dual 5-1/4" or HDD model?
The keyboard and monitors were proprietary, and if included, would make a fine specimen in any 'museum'.

You should do very well with a boxed specimen. There is great value in original boxes, packing and instructions as those most times are very tough to come by as more was tossed then what came in the boxes. I will keep older computer boxes and such that I end up with. I will try and not damage them as I use them for storage of interesting small items such as toys and such.

The reason that I'm posting on this thread is that when I read about the foam packing it reminded me of some old Star Trek trivia. When the show first started they had a very tight budget and the prop guys would scrounge for materials to build sets and props with. I read that the studio had received a bunch of the new IBM Selectric typewriters and the dumpsters were full of the clam shell foam packing so they took them and made a set wall out of them. I know a lot of interesting trivia about many things that are just interesting curiosities.

I'll confirm when you send the pictures.. But I believe that as a kid my family used to OWN one of these.
    Looking forward to the pic.

I remember how people would say "What kind of computer do you have?" I'd say "An AT&T" I got a lot of puzzled looks!

    HOLY POOP! Thats IS it!
The only other one I have ever seen.. WOW.. Thanks for the throwback to circa 1986 or so!

Unless I am mistaken... this has a ship date of 1993.. but I know they were made far earlier than that.. maybe a second or 3rd version possibly?

Here is the wiki link on it!

My guess would be that the computer was sent for service of some kind in 1993. I can't see a new unit being bought in 1993 when there were far faster and capable machines out in the market. Someone that paid dearly for their computer in the mid-eighties would have some motivation to spend a few hundred to extend it's life, rather than fork out a few more thousand for a new unit though.
