Picked up an early 1970s video poker machine

Hi all! Finally got my hands on some old poker and slot machines. Unlike my earlier guess it turned out to be no big deal, I just didn't know how and where to look. This was was purchased new by who I got it from 42 years ago he said. It has what you'd expect from an old CRT (low grade boards, degassing cable, etc), about 200lbs processed as shred that was by weight mostly the wood cabinet, one random little piece of aluminum, two little motors (fan, bill intake) and some boards shown below (just the non-CRT boards, the CRT boards are what you'd expect). Another nice find was four cords with what look like long gold pins on each end. Hard to see in the pic, sorry.

The main board, came with an extra one

Congrats. I don't know your experience level so I will just tell you what I would do with the boards in the first photo. I am assuming you have determined that there is no resale value to these boards.

I only depopulate these type of boards. I remove the transformers using a wood chisel. I would also remove the battery, capacitors and heat sink. I refer these type board as power/logic boards and have found many in laboratory and medical equipment. Depopulating these type boards increases the value of the board itself and reduces the shipping cost. This has been my logic in how I have processed this type board.

Even if you are aware of all I have pointed out others on the forum have yet to run across these type boards. You've included some good photos so its helpful for others. 73, Mike

seems these would be worth more than scrap for someone to refurbish as a "man cave" item

Only partially up to speed on board processing as will be obvious from the following question: do you mean all the capcitors or just the large, cylindrical ones? And the two main boards are for sure not resellable as they're both damaged. Thanks as always for sharing your experience!

This is a great suggestion! I have two more right now to monkey with. If one of them is pure scrap will see if a mini fridge can fit inside of it.
