High End Boards What would you grade them?

HI ALL,I PICKED UP A BUNCH OF TELECOM BOARDS WITH GOLD PLATING LINED ALL THROUGH THE BOARD WITH LOTS OF IC CHIPS

AND ALSO HAD BOARDS WITH LOTS OF GOLD PLATED PINS NOT SURE WHAT THEY CAME OFF. ANY ONE SEEN THESE BEFORE?

1-3 high grade telecom $6-$8 per pound due to gold plating/traces/fingers
4-6 server backplane $10+ per pound due to lots of gold pins

I would remove the fingers and gold pins and sell them off separately. Then take whatever you can get for the boards

looks kinda like a forest, after a tornado. It's not a real bad idea, sometimes, to make at least some sort of a mental note, on what it is you're breaking down. Before you break it

I actually bought 200lbs of this stuff off a guy who was doing a clean out of some company that went out of buisness a decade ago the tags on them said "need to be tested" with a tag date of 1991. So it was already broken and layered with 21 years of dust. but at 6$+ lb value it was a good buy.

I dont care how much dust is on it those gold pins look great and sell great. They go for around $100 per pound. So even if you paid $10 per pound for the boards you are going to do very well on it. Just make sure you take the time to remove the pins from the boards instead of selling them as-is. I will sit there all day and pull gold pins at the prices they go for, plus i can get caught up on all my tv shows as i do it.

Wow Man, Cool!

Actually, I'd recommend not going with todays standards on that stuff. Not sure how you'll do it, but maybe try and get small bits of it tested someway before comitting to a major trade

Pictures 4-6 look like boards from old telecom wiring boards. Check out Barren realms site he has a picture of something similar to what you have. Nice price, Good job.

agreed, all of it is telecom the pins on that one in pic 5 look very nice, just makes me want to get the pliers out

Well if I get snowed in for weeks on end I might have to pull them off. With all those boards it would take a pretty long time might even get carpal tunnel! :)

Just hang onto them then. You are going to get killed on those selling the ones with pins as complete boards. If you spend a couple hours pulling and trimming off gold pins it would definitely be worth it.

I bought a 15 pound server backplane board for $150, i estimate it has 5-7 pounds of pins on it which should bring $400-$700 depending on how the pins grade out. Not a bad profit for a couple hours work.

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to do that, and just work on them when I get some free time. Thanks for the input appreciate it.

$80 per pound of pins is tha base number that mostbuyers pay, ive sold 1 pound for $300 before but it was very small pins that were 100% covered so alot more gold surface area per pound than the larger pins

Expect 6 to be the top end on those boards not 8.

They are in the 4.50 to 5.50 range at today's prices

Ten per pound is a fair price for back planes they are fast and fun to pull pins out, the telecom boards where the pins are soldered on im not as thrilled about because i have to get the angle grinder out and it throws dust and pins everywhere but it strips boards very quick. I love my 6" metabo angle grinder.
