Some tips to Keep your vehicles running Good

please by no means take this as being in stone just a few tips that if you have overlooked u might want to get checked out ....

1.synthetic oil .... whats 1 dollar more per bottle ... either pay now or pay later ...

2.if its leaking and you have a choice park it til the leak is fixed .... seen too many haulers blow a tranny and never know why ... "its not leaking " is what they say ... no the transmissions not leaking but your radiator and water pump are and without an external transmission cooler ---with a fan i might add --- then its eventually going to overheat .. most of the time your tranny is cooling off of your radiator ....

3.Lucas oil ... --- proven stuff .... if your have ever tried there display case you will see the difference

4. Sea foam , Stp fuel injection cleaner, gumout , b-12 , Acetone ...

5. Air up your tires and keep a spare tire with you

6.If you can afford it Stick with places like NAPA auto parts .... this is from personal experience .... there parts cost more but it seems like they last a while ...

7. Too many people under 1 hood is a BAD THING ....

8. Tighten your battery cables .

9. Avoid rush hour --- nothing like sitting in bumper to bumper traffic with 2 tons of metal on your trailer tring to make it to the metal yard before they close ..

Synthetic isn't recommended in most cases, in higher millage cars/trucks, its thinner and gaskets may leak. Royal purpal is top notch stuff, we run it in our sled pulling trucks, as far as synthetics go.

Borrow the neighbors truck add gas. LoL

I agree with Snythetic oil 100% and Lucas ! Run both in my old 4x4, had the engine up to 230 degrees many of times ! Even got it hot enough, playing in the mud, blown top radiator hose in half ! Lucas saves engines !

yeah i use the lucas transmission oil ... its good and it keeps your tranny temps down a tad

haven't tried royal purpal .... is it any good /??

yeah it is if your running a diesel amsoil is a must

spark plugs every 100k new wires if needed, better fuel mileage and prevents code from tripping if it misfires.
I flush all fluids every 150k especially tranny and transfer case lucas treatments are my choice if used.
up here in the north where salt on the roads in winter will destroy a car faster than driving one to death the main thing is undercoating and washing. I have seen to many cars that have rotten frames from salt damage and can't be fixed. My gmc had both sides of the frame rot out in 5 years. two plates welded on only lasted 2 more years.

Slick 50, or any other oil treatment that does the same thing.
My old scrap hauler lost an oil pump and due to money and time constraints, I had to drive it for a couple of months like that.
After I replaced the oil pump it performed the same as it did before the oil pump went bad.
When I bought it I added a quart of slick 50 the first time I changed the oil, I think if I didn't do that I would have lost the engine.
