Finally decided to join today. I have been reading threads as a guest for weeks now. Some really great stuff on here. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with others. I am new to this business and would like to make a go of it. I have purchased some computers from an auction and have started taking them apart. I am still confused on separating the boards but will keep researching and reading.

Best thing I can tell ya is read, read, then read someMO! And ... do not be in a hurry. If you spend time doing the research, then applying the knowledge shared here, you will find yourself becoming very productive, and ... your efforts becoming profitable.

welcome to the forum from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I do agree, read and read, then read some more. there is so much knowledge here, it will make your head spin. just be patient and learn. make sure you look in the buyers thread as those are some of the best prices around. good luck and happy scrapping.

Don't beat yourself up to bad on the grading thing...It's a steep learning curve, thanks to every buyer being different. Heh. Some good info on figuring it out tho, an Mech got ya pointed in the right direction with the link.

Woah Man, slow down a bit. How much do you know about computers? Motherboards go in one pile, finger cards in another, RAM in another, CPUs in another, are ya with me so far?? If not, you should consider learning more about what you have before proceeding with the teardown. Are any of them duo-core or vintage? Did you try to fire em up?? Any questions, read and ask.Quote:
