Craigslist ad... Ruining other "scrappers"?
I have an ethical question that may seem pretty simple to answer.
If I were to put in a craigslist ad that I will locally pick up unwanted electronics, would it be wrong or giving other scrappers a bad rap if I asked if the donors are tired of cut cords, broken glass, and a mess at their curb by other "scrappers"?
I ask because I don't want to step on toes, but have noticed most Clist posts around here seem like they were constructed by someone who never graduated 8th grade English... And have noticed on my local trash nights that we have a pretty regular cord-cut-and-go type of scrapper.
We are not allowed to leave electronics for the trash guys, but homeowners still do, knowing they will be picked up one way or another. I guess I just don't want to come off as high and mighty, plus I believe if I respectfully take their unwanted junk, I may just have that one homeowner who works in an IT department and has the ability and willingness to offer a massive pile of old computers...
I guess what I'm asking is; Would it piss you guys/gals off to see an ad on clist that seemed like a pretentious **** making all other scrappers seem like crackheads (of course I would not put it that way)?:-/

Well I decided to go ahead and make a post. Got flagged and removed from the free section, but got a call within 45 minutes from a giy who wants to get rid of tv's, monitors, and some cable boxes... Never had one of those before!!! Should meet him tomorrow. I can't wait!

I can get rid of three CRTs a day at bestbuy which is kinda out of my way, but if im going that way its no big deal. My problem is storage, I work out of the basement and everything has to go down some narrow steps, one of which is what we call a "scottish castle" step, cuz its taller than the others...
